Revelation 4-12

“I suppose John saw beings there of a thousand forms, that had been saved from ten thousand…earths like this, – strange beasts of which we have no conception….John learned that God glorified Himself by saving all that His hands had made…”
Joseph Smith, Teachings, p. 291.

“Revelation is one of the plainest books God ever caused to be written.”
Joseph Smith, Teachings, 290.

“Old paint on canvas, as it ages, sometimes becomes transparent.  When that happens it is possible, in some pictures, to see the original lines:  a tree will show through a woman’s dress, a child makes way for a dog, a large boat is no longer on an open sea.  That is called pentimento because the painter “repented,” changed his mind.”
Lillian Hellman, Pentimento, 1.

“Says one, ‘I cannot believe in the salvation of beasts.’  Any man who would tell you that this could not be, would tell you that the revelations are not true.  John heard the words of the beasts giving glory to God, and understood them.  God who made the beasts could understand every language spoken by them.  The four beasts were four of the most noble animals that had filled the measure of their creation…they were like angels in their sphere.”
Joseph Smith, Teachings, 291-292.

“Man himself is a self-registering machine…man lays up for himself a record which perhaps nobody else is acquainted with but himself; and when the time comes for that record to be unfolded…all men…will be able to read all things as God Himself reads them…and all things…are naked and open before Him with whom we have to do.”  (Hebrews 4:13).”
John Taylor, in Daniel Ludlow, Latter-Day Prophets Speak, 57.

“A man is his own tormentor and his own condemner.”
Joseph Smith, History of the Church, 6:314.
